The Humanities of a Mother
[edit]A mother is the most humble and strong person one can ever find in this world regardless of what they go through- they deserve to be wholly honored. They are the most people in life that go through hardship and struggle, just to make sure their blessings (children) are well nurtured and brought up to life responsibly. Mothers possess the power as caregivers, leaders and activists to change the world, thus they have invested interest in the minds of artists around the world by expressing their thoughts, experiences and observations on motherhood..[1] This issue reminds us of the oldest practiced system of women in the workforce when they use to be paid relatively unreasonable low salaries or wages doing the same job as men- simply because of the fact that they are "women", they were challenged by the inequality in the workforce. Eventhough, that did not stop them to be women enough and move away from the traditional labor such as uncompensated household work, childcare, eldercare, and family subsistence farming. The microchimerism: Mother Meets Child done by Professor Vicki Clifton and Dr Rachel Burgess, investigated how art can comfort and support women who have suffered the loss of a baby during pregnancy. They have grieved the loss of unborn babies, yet every mother has a shadow of every baby she have nurtured.[[2]. A mother is someone who will always be there for her children(not only her own flesh) to take care of them wholeheartedly in an equal, humble, passionate and caring manner. She can yell, argue and scream in anger because of the challenges and dissapointments she encounter, be it from her own children, family relatives, friends or most probably the community as a whole. Nevertheless, she will always make sure that they get the best out of their lives regardless of what they put her through. Somewhere in the world, every eight seconds, a mother is throwing her hands in the air and declaring that her child is a little monster although every child is a pride to any parent.[3]
