Summary

[edit]

Regarding Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado,” I plan on revising the plot summary of the story to make it more complete and accurate since there are holes in the plot summary as well as misinformation. There is also misinformation in the “analysis” section; I will correct this information and cite accordingly. I have significantly cut back on the scope of my original contributions. There is quite a bit that needs to be filled in just in these two aspects, therefore I will focus my research on these two sections and edit out the other sections I was previously going to work on. I have found quite a lot of materials to aid my research and filling in the gaps.

Regarding Edith Wharton’s “Roman Fever,” I had originally planned on revising the plot summary, as it is severely lacking in content, and does not provide any actual details. However after some research, I will have to cut this section from my edits and focus my attention primarily on the “analysis” section. There is no “analysis” section on the page. I will create this section and provide relevant information with links and appropriate cites to help readers further their study of the text. Finally, there is no mention of “dramatic irony,” which is one of the boldest elements of the story. I will add this information under the proposed “analysis” section. This information alone is substantial and will fulfill my requirement for the project. Ejenn2 (talk) 02:25, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

All of this looks great, Ejenn2. I also see that another user has already responded to your post on the Poe Article Talk page, which is awesome! It also means that user is probably carefully policing that article, so you'll want to make sure to keep close track of your edits (in case they get removed, since you'll want to be able to discuss your experience in your self assessment!). Two minor criticisms, both technical: 1) you haven't included any internal links here, and 2) this summary should be on your Talk page, instead of your User page. That will make it easier for other users to find you. Score for Summary: 2.25/3 Nadinecross78 (talk) 01:42, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
My instructions for this assignment contained an error. The assignment said to post your summary to your User Page (not your User:Talk page, which is what I intended), so you won't be penalized for posting here (though you should still move your info to your Talk page so other Users can more easily find what you are working on). I've adjusted your score in the grade book to reflect this corrected scoring error. Nadinecross78 (talk) 20:43, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
