From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The University of California - Irvine holds a repository of datasets which are used by practitioners and researchers in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Data Mining, Bio-informatics and others these are referred to as the UCI datasets.

The purpose of the datasets is to provide a publicly accessible resource to facilitate the development, comparison and testing of algorithms in the above fields. The collection holds some XXXX plus datasets covering a wide variety of problem domains. Some popular examples are

Research papers published in machine learning and related fields will often quote results achieved on these datasets as a way of allowing others to assess the efficacy of new techniques, or of placing current work in a context which can be related to the general corpus of research in the field.

As the volume of published work is large it can be difficult for individual researchers to keep track of developments in their field, or for new workers in the field to get an overall perspective on the state of the art.

The purpose of this page is to provide a view of the current, and historic, state of the art of performance of algorithms on these datasets.

Entries in the results tables should have been published in a peer reviewed medium, such as journal papers, conference proceedings or as the results of entries to public competitions.
