In 1870 he sired 37 foals, more than any other stallion in the country.[3]

He stood his first season at Moorlands Farm in Skelton near York in 1866 for a fee of 25 guineas, with 10s 6d for the stud groom, Mr. Huby.

Gee bought his for £4,000 in March 1870, but will stay at Moorlands.[14]
