The 2016–17 North Carolina A&T Aggies men's basketball team represents North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Aggies, led by first year head coach Jay Joyner, play their home games at the Corbett Sports Center and are members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Previous Season and offseason

The Aggies finished the season 10-22, 7-9 in MEAC play to finish in seventh place. In January 2016, former Head Coach Cy Alexander resigned from his position to pursue other opportunities within the A&T athletics department.[1]

The 2015–16 North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team will represent the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach is Roy Williams, who will be in his 13th season as UNC's head men's basketball coach. They will play their home games at the Dean Smith Center as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Previous Season

They finished the season 26–12, 11–7 in ACC play to finish in fifth place. They advanced to the championship game of the ACC Tournament where they lost to Notre Dame. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they defeated Harvard in the second round and Arkansas in the third round before losing in the Sweet Sixteen to eventual national runner-up Wisconsin.
