About time, I assume, that I should put some notes about myself here.
Some brief history
[edit]I worked as a math teacher for 30+ years including 12 years in Japan and 10 years in England with the Dept of Defense School System. Working in smaller schools, I taught at almost every stage of the high school curriculum, but mostly Math Analysis, Calculus and Statistics. Now retired, I split my time between homes in Elk Rapids, Michigan and Paducah, Kentucky, although I claim the nearby community of Possum Trot for emotional reasons. We've recently added a writer's retreat for my wife in Naubinway (A wonderful little drinking town with a fishing problem) in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Interests
[edit]My primary interest is in the history of mathematics, science, and technology, but I am also an enthusiast of etymology, and particular the etymology of math/science terms and symbols.
