B to GAGA to A (next)

My own personal directory for making improvements to the timeline of the 2001 Atlantic hurricane season article, a present B-Class article which I created. Juliancolton (talk · contribs) will be listing the improvements for me.

OK Julian; as I said earlier, each improvement will be a step-by-step process. Your job here in Chapter 1 of my quest is to list improvements from B-Class to what-would-be-if-it-was-allowed GA-Class. BTW, this system is pretty much the best organization available from my brain. --Dylan620 (Homeyadda yadda yaddaOoooohh!) 20:31, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Well, it's pretty hard to find anything that needs improvement, but here are a couple nitpicks:
  • The 2001 Atlantic hurricane season was an above-average Atlantic hurricane season with 17 tropical cyclones, 15 named storms, 9 hurricanes, and 4 major hurricanes. - Numbers below 10 are spelled out.
In an FLC, I got nabbed for inconsistency with that, they need to be either numbers or words, so this is fine.Cyclonebiskit (talk) 20:50, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
  • Although officially starting on June 1 and ending on November 30, the season effectively persisted into December 6 due to continued activity from Hurricane Olga, the season's final storm. - "Although officially starting" → "although it officially started and ended". Also, "effectively" is redundant.
  • Be sure that there are no spaces before footnotes.
  • Otherwise, it looks good for the equivalence of GA. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 20:46, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
OK, when I'm done with these improvements, we'll move on to Chapter 2. --Dylan620 (Homeyadda yadda yaddaOoooohh!) 21:34, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, there you have it – if lists were accepted at GAN, this would be my first GA. But the timeline may still be a tad far from FL. --Dylan620 (Homeyadda yadda yaddaOoooohh!) 18:15, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
