Raided by Nottinghamshire Police in September 2024 as it was being used as a cannabis farm, they ensured that the cultivation equipment was cleared and electrical works carried out to make it safe. Thought to date from 1775. Constructed as a flour mill it was later converted to spinning textiles. Grade 2 listed. Converted to a pub in the 20th century and was a locally renowned music venue. Closed 2010. Charnwood Training Group proposed in 2016 to reopen it as a microbrewery, hotel and training venue but the company later collapsed. 3-storey stone structure. Listed by the Mansfield Chad newspaper in January 2024 as the building local people most wnated to see brought back into use. Suggestions were made of returning it to use as a pub or converting it into a small hydro-electric power station.[1]
