Organised by the Peirre-André de Chalendar, chairman of Saint-Gobain, French construction material firm implicated in the Grenfell Fire scandal. Attended by Labour minister Rushanara Ali; after news of her attendance became known she rsigned her building safety brief but retained her position as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Building Safety and Homelessness. Also attended by Yvette Cooper and Darren Jones. Weekend long annual conference alternates between luxury hotels in Versailles and London.In 2024 attended by 50 British and 50 French delegates. British attendees included ITV's Robert PEston, Channel 4 News' Matt Frei, Fincnail TImes editor Roula Khalaf, Economist Paris bureau head Sophie Pedder. Also has been attended by Spectator political editor Katy Balls, Economist editor in chief Zanny Minton Beddoes aand Guardian editor Kathe Viner.[1]
