Rita Reed is a former photographer and a photojournalism professor at the University of Missouri School of Journalism.

NOTE: Reed is best known for her photographic book on gay and lesbian teenagers, which earned her the 1993 Nikon Sabbatical Grant for Documentary Photography.

Biography & Career

Reed worked in the newspaper business for twenty years before, at Minneapolis' Start Tribune and The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa before becoming a professor at the University of Missouri in 2001.
