- OK, LCV is Loyola College Vandal, a case going back to 2006. User:Causa sui knew something, according tot his block--and you know, of course, that Baltimore is where the Ravens play. I can find no document of a long-term abuse or an SPI, but the extended history of User:Kross is enough. How else did that jerk Raven find his way there? This may well be the first one. <--No, this is the first one. Loyola is a misnomer, in a way. Note the phrasing on User:Kross and the exclamation point; note also what they edit, incl. Obesity. Then the Loyola silliness starts, here. What's next? This needs to be written up somewhere. An SPI would be useful for gathering info, and would help dealing with subsequent abuse--CU would be easy. - Oh, I'm sure they're all stale, yes. But I think the duck test identifies Ravens1985 as a sock of Willie/LCV convincingly enough, and that makes it more difficult for the next one. CU can see what else is under Ravens. Drmies (talk) 04:44, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Characteristics
[edit]Started off as WilburWheels, soon shifted to "Loyola College Vandal" in many permutations. Other names include plays on Baltimore and the Ravens. A connection between the two was made here, besides in the contributions.
An early IP, 144.126.76.13 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), gave some edit summaries that suggest an explanation for their obsessions. Note also their involvement with the LTA page, in this diff--an example of 'good' behavior (as if their vandalism was completely reasonable), and a desire to be known. Note also the declaration of war against User:Kross, here; the zealous anger directed at atheism, here; here is a reason for messing with the Sunglass image (more on which below) which must have changed since then. This IP has all the edits that will become patterns.
A connection was made between LCV and Bobby Boulders (talk · contribs), here, but I am not yet convinced.
Typical edits are rude and nonsensical and are made on articles including Obesity and articles related to homosexuality. Usual goals are the user page of Kross (talk · contribs), to insert anti-gay and jingoistic commentary; the user page of Rory096 (talk · contribs) which was vandalized early in 2006; User:Causa sui was vandalized; the user page of Angr (talk · contribs), possibly in relation to the sunglass image. In the early days, he often edited this image and its caption, Image:Sunglass-c.jpg; see Obesity and Chub (gay culture) ([1]). User is a Baltimore Ravens fan ([2]) with an interest in the state of Maryland ([3]).
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Plane Ride From Hell seems to be a sock plantation. Typical: our woman-hating gay basher (see EricVenken) also likes rassling. It's a sport, man. That AfD attracted EricVenken (talk · contribs) (specifically created for that purpose), OsFan (talk · contribs), possibly BennyLittleton (talk · contribs), UT4Life (talk · contribs), possibly ISHBOO1111 (talk · contribs), TeenageWasteland1980 (talk · contribs) (note the name with two proper caps and date), and TheCars4Life (talk · contribs) (who plays the good guy in this AfD). And see the deleted edits for Plane Ride From Hell, which implicates Dr. R.K.Z (talk · contribs), an account mainly concerned with comics--maybe CU would come in handy, but I don't think this is the one. HrothgarFan (talk · contribs), however, is one.
According to Hersfold (see block of Rolfgolf (talk · contribs)), there is a connection with the golfers who vandalized Kross's user page--from looking at the golf edits I didn't see that, but I'll look again. No--look at GolfingRolfing (talk · contribs) and Rolfygolfy (talk · contribs); that's not our guy.
User likes The Who: TeenageWasteland1980 (talk · contribs) and assorted edits esp. by OsFan (talk · contribs).
Likes to move user pages into obscene user space--see the history of my user page, and the contributions of Sonofyens (talk · contribs) (blocked as an idiot in 2007, really).
Racist edits: Akkabakka (talk · contribs) on MLK Day.
IPs, names
[edit]A bunch of different names are used simultaneously, with week-long intervals. IPs are used as well, though those are harder to find. I have a nagging suspicion, given for instance the behavior of Raven 1985 (a mixed [douche] bag), that this person has good hand, bad hand accounts, and may well have a couple of clean ones, or even some clean IPs, to edit the articles they care about, such as Mike Anderson (running back) or All Time Low (can't really prove that yet, but I think Rokstarr2015 (talk · contribs) is one of our socks--note the name+number combination, and the douchebag here.
