Dr. Kabita Barik is an Odia writer, widely recognized for her impactful writings that champion the cause of women's empowerment. Her work delves into the challenges and triumphs of women, offering a voice to their stories and advocating for their rights. Through her writing, She strive to inspire women, shedding light on their strength, resilience, and the need for gender equality in society

She is born in Baripada city of Mayurbahnj, Odisha, to a middle-class family. She showed a keen interest in literature from an early age

Education

She completed her primary and secondary education in Baripada before pursuing a degree in Odia literature from Ravenshaw College. She later obtained a Master’s degree (M.A, M.Phil., PhD, D.Litt.) in Odia literature from Utkal University.

Literary Career

She began her literary career as a Journalist in the early 1980s, initially writing short stories and poems that were published in local magazines. Her first novel, Parada pachha ra gita, published in 1981.
