Kronos Space Craft
[edit]The Kronos Spacecraft is a concept to Saturn. It was proposed in 2009 by the collaboration between NASA and ESA. The Kronos Space Craft is designed to study the chemical composition of Saturn's atmosphere , gravity and magnetic fields. It consists of two small probes that help getting close-up images of Saturns rings. They consist of small particles and they range from 1 μm to m in size, that orbit about Saturn . The cruise time depends on the trajectory that is chosen and it could take from up to 6 to 17 years.
This concept is important in astronomy because it is giving us information that we still have not been able to get. With the help of Space Crafts they are able to bring us more information about our planets and we could do more research upon that. It is also important because we are building our knowledge upon what we already know
