Simphiwe Vuyelwa Mguni is a Zimbabwean Politician and Innovator[1]. She was born on the 20 May 1995, daughter of Former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Obedingwa Mguni[2] who was the ZANU PF Parliamentary Chief Whip at the time of his death.

Educational Background

Simphiwe Vuyelwa Mguni is the holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg[3], a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Law from the University of the Western Cape[4] and a Postgraduate Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the Western Cape[4]

Political Career

Simphiwe was elected as a Proportional Representation Councillor at the Mangwe Rural District Council in August of 2023[5] representing ZANU PF. She has been the National Secretary for Information and Publicity[6] in the Main Wing of Citizens Against Economic Sanctions (CAES) Zimbabwe since August of 2023. She is the National head of Media and Communications at Young Women Of Africa Zimbabwe[7]

Innovator

Simphiwe is a Multiaward winning innovator. She is the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA)[8] Tourism Innovation Challenge winner in Matabeleland South Province for 2022[9] and the National first-runner up for the ZTA Tourism Innovation Challenge 2022[10]. Simphiwe was the first runner up in the category “Educational Technology” in the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA)[11] BRICS+ Youth Innovation Summit [1]
