Early Life and Education
[edit]Mahaveer Saran Jain was born on 17 January 1941 in India. He pursued higher education in Hindi and linguistics, obtaining the following degrees:
- M.A. in Hindi – 1960
- D.Phil. in Hindi Linguistics – 1962
- D.Litt. in Hindi Linguistics – 1967
Academic Career
[edit]Mahaveer Saran Jain has held several academic and administrative positions, contributing significantly to Hindi language studies and linguistic research. He has served as:
- Director, Central Hindi Institute, Government of India
- Visiting Professor, University of Bucharest, Romania
- Professor and Head, Department of Postgraduate Hindi and Linguistics, Jabalpur University
Additionally, he has worked with the Planning Commission of India’s Education Division and served as a member of Official Language Advisory Committees for various government ministries.
He has evaluated over 100 Ph.D. and D.Litt. dissertations across more than 25 universities and has delivered keynote addresses at numerous international conferences.
