Agile Innovation Management

Agile Innovation Management ( or AIM for short ) is a methodology which aims to achieve idea realisation using Agile development principles. This methodology can be used to reach any type of goal.

How does it work? The process itself can be best compared to how tracer bullets work using the ready fire aim concept :

Ready Fire Aim is a way of looking at a set goal and simply firing in the approximate correct direction, measure the deviation and use this knowledge to aim and fire again until the goal is reached with sufficient quality levels. The method is Agile because everybody is holding the gun.

Some ideas are realised over many Aims, some need only a few.

For example

1. Simple goal with few Aim iterations : I have the idea to turn on the light because it is pitch-dark inside my house. Because I already know approximately where the light switch is I probably need only 1 or 2 Aim iterations before I reach my set goal : the lightswitch.

2. Complex goal with many Aim iterations : I want to spend my holiday in another country ( Goal ) and for that I need to develop a strategy. The strategy tells me how I would like to achieve my goal. A first Aim could be to define who will be joining me, what country to go to, what transportation methods are going to be used and how much money and time will be available. This one goal is thus further defined and partitioned into several more smaller goals. However : in contrast to other methodologies used, goal definition is done collaboratively.
