The reason why I chose to become a wikicontributor is because I can see through the constantly changing global and economic trends that internet usage and dependence has risen over 14.921% in the last 2 years. From 2006-2008, there has been an unprecedented flux to the usage of online and internet reference materials. It is important to me that the information provided to this fluxuation be as factual as possible. I was saddened to note the inconsitencies and the incorrect information already currently logged under several common sense articles. With renewed determination, I have become a wikicontributor so that I can personally make sure that the information prvoided is the most factually correct information on the web.
I am not listing any personal information because I do not feel personal sentimentality has any place on a reference website. If I wanted you to know who I am, and what I do for a living and what my favorite hobbies and activities are, I would have provided you with a link to my facebook. However, I am in the minority (over 16.2% of Americans are in this category) of individuals who feel that private information should remain just that. PRIVATE.
Some of the things that I will be contributing to are primarily articles of historical and ethnohistorical value. It is my opinion and practice that history is doomed to be repeated unless it is accurately provided to our current generation so that they may avoid repeating the mistakes that our ancestors have made. The areas of history that my own personal research covers is that of Mediterranean and Ethno-Eurasian studies. In my studies and my travels, I have developed a deper and far greater appreciation for the people of the Mediterranean. The history of Greece is something that fascinates me, whether it be the great achievements of the philosophers such as Aristotle, or the great conquests of Alexander the Great, it all combines to create a unique tableau of history that is the foundation of our understanding of what is known as Americana.
In the areas of fine art and culture, I prefer to study the classical periods of human literature and musical composition. Periods such as Romanticism and Neo-Classicism which define the very fabric of our human experience. Such musical artists as Mugorsky and Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich and Bach. Periods such as 20th Century and Baroque define human emotion and the progression of human emotion throughout history. It is my enjoyment of the periods of Romanticism and 20th Century music, that make up most of my time. The sheer emotion of Romanticism and the bold descriptiveness of 20th Century combine together to create history in the form of music. Beautiful music that I listen to at every occasion I have.
In the way of the arts, the Renaissance artists such as Michaelangelo and Raphael whose sculptures and paintings serve to illustrate the purity of the human form, become great forms of artistic observation for myself. The paintings of Raphael illustrate great moments and ideas of the time period that the artist lived in, observing such greats as the Stanza della Segnatura of 1508 and the intense expression of Il Spasimo of 1517 speaks to the human soul like no other artist of that period.
The realm of literature is something of which I participate highly, I enjoy reading from the period of literature known as Romanticism. The intense nationalism portrayed by this period is something that I particularly enjoy. I hope to contribute to this field in particular.
