Baduy or badui is an indigenous ethnic group of Indonesia who lives in the western part of Java island.
History
[edit]Following the fall of Majapahit kingdom from the series of battles against the Sultanate of Demak around 1500, Islam emerged as the main forces in Java; transforming Hindu Javanese courts and progressively towards rural areas.[1] The collapse forced Majapahit to establish their religious and political elite in Bali island, which has shaped the courtly religious tradition in the island until today.
