Bio

[edit]

I'm a writer and editor who has worked also in environmental consulting. Currently a newspaper editor.

My interests include science, weather (tropical cyclone), and the French colonial period in America (Pierre Dugué de Boisbriand and Fort de Chartres)). Also a fan of Cajun and Zydeco music; sailing and racing sailboats; photography; home improvement; and design.

See User:DavidH/style1 for guidelines and markup codes.

Quick tips Use simple, direct, precise, everyday English. Your readers are regular people who are not experts in the topic.

  • Use "because" instead of "due to."
  • Use "9 a.m." instead of "9 o'clock in the morning."
  • Write "and so on" instead of "etc." Use "that is" instead of "i.e."
  • Put "only" in the correct place in a sentence.
