These umpires put in a lot of work at weekly training on LJ Lewis Reserve located on Grand Junction Road. This is the oval below the main Greenacres oval and Grand North Club. The umpires are split up between Green shirt (first year) and orange shirt (second year and over). Alot of time and dedication goes into the running of an umpiring panel from all of the coaches. We thank them sincerely.

Green shirt umpires usually start umpiring:

U6, U8's, U9's or U10's and gradually (as they progress) move to U11's. For school football they will umpire most likely Year 2/3 or Year 4/5.

Orange shirt umpires can umpire any under from U6 to under 16's. For school football they will umpire all grades.

Uniform for a Green shirt Umpire:

  • Fluro Green Socks
  • Green Shirt
  • Black shorts
  • White Sweatbands
  • Optional Hat/Sunglasses

Uniform for an Orange Shirt umpire:

  • Orange Shirt
  • Black Shorts
  • Black Socks
  • White Sweatbands
  • Optional Hat/Sunglasses

Abuse occurs quite often at football matches, which lowers retention rates of umpires, and makes thier job very difficult. If we dont have umpires football matches cannot proceed, this is why ALL ABUSE at matches should be stopped. Respect the game, Respect the umpire.
