In real life I'm an Australian copyright policy expert, who has been working on increasing the flexibility and practical workability of copyright in Australia and overseas since 2000. I currently work as the Executive Officer of the Australian Digital Alliance and as the Copyright and Policy Adviser of the Australian Libraries Copyright Committee - two non-profit organisations that together seek to assist and represent the views of Australia's cultural, education, disability and tech sectors.

Prior to joining the ADA and ALCC, I spent most of the last decade working with Creative Commons, first as the Project Manager of Creative Commons Australia and then as the Global Network Manager at the Head Office in San Francisco, supporting its international community and representing CC in discussions globally. I have also spent time as an academic in the Creative Commons Clinic, a research program at the Queensland University of Technology, and as a copyright and broadcasting policy adviser for the Australian government and Australia’s commercial television broadcasters.

I have a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne and both a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (English Hons) from the Australian National University.
