Dr Lalita Sharma born on 17th June 1974 in the state of Sikkim ,schooling from St. Xavier's, left her job as an Assistant professor of Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya in the department of law to cater to the needs of these children and youths so that more time could be given to these children in need. She also counsels the students and even the parents where required. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her trained volunteers about 80 youths selflessly helped to provide oxygen concentrator machines to the patients being treated at home, medicines and dry food kits for the old, the sick and the needy, arranging for blood for thalassemia patients and also have conducted the successful Mohalla classes for those children who did not have access to online mode of learning at the locality they live in. these classes were successfully conducted every day.

About
She guides more than 580 Underprivileged children and youth every year for complete Education , bringing them to the mainstream of Education working with them everyday since last twelve years(2009) and trains about 60 ladies for vocation of life in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.
She is also an Animator and trainer of Value education and empowerment of women.
She runs an NGO, Abhakunj Welfare Society, which provides Philanthropic services for the under privileged children, Youth and women and empowers them in literacy, Arts, vocational and moral values of life thus bringing about huge transformation in the locality they live. She conducts free and complete Education for all standards from 1st to 12th and guides the Graduates and post graduates in her classes known as "open sky learning classes" to four categories of students namely :
- Ones who have never studied in schools
- Drop outs from schools and colleges and sends them back to school and college through open
exams.
- Those Youths who work and support their families so do not get time to go to schools and colleges.
- Students of Government schools who have enrolled in school for the name sake but are irregular to schools.
5. All those who wish to study and complete their higher education .
She has provided a Platform for all those students who would like to do something in their lives
Guidance
Complete education to under privileged children is provided so they are aware of the importance literacy and values in life. Apart from Literacy, Dr Lalita Sharma trains these children and youth to inculcate virtues of Skill Development, Vocational Training, health education awareness programs, yoga, guidance, counselling sessions and sports. A library and readers club has been set up for these students as many of them who aspire to be doctors, engineers, civil servants etc. Some of her students have even made it to IIT's and other professional courses in higher education. She also guides them in career guidance and employment opportunities.
Achievements and Recognition
Lalita Sharma was selected by the Ministries of women and Child Development, Government of India and recognized as the 100 most impactful women of India and was felicitated by the President of India, Late Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 22nd January,2016 for her selfless services towards Education and the Empowerment of the less privileged children and youth. Felicitated by the Ministry of Women and Child Development M.P Govt and Zee News Madhya Pradesh for the Education of the less privileged. One of the speakers on Education and development for the JOSH Talks of India. She was invited to speak on the special episode of “The Purpose of Life" at Dr Subhash Chandra show of ZEE T.V. Which was telecast in various regional languages as well.
Dr Lalita Sharma has received the Global Women awards and is Interested in the "Influencer category" for her noble services towards literacy and community development, for education and socio-economic development of the marginalized section of society on 14th July 2018 in New York. She was among the five recipients of the Award Globally and the only one from India.
Invited by the Human Library Indore Chapter as a Book "Teaching Under the Sky" for its several sessions . She has also published many Research papers in National and International Journals and written many Newspaper Articles. She has been recognized for her selfless service by many other organization as well. Through these activities, she works for community building and capacity development among the youth thus bringing about socioeconomic development, empowerment and transformation in the lives of people thousands of children and youth.
