Mack has a B.S. from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a Ph.D. in physiology from Howard University.[1]

She was a professor of biology at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.[2]

was project manager for the National Science Foundation's ADVANCE program[2]

in 2012 became executive director of Project Kaleidoscope[3] which is a project working to diversify faculty in STEM fields, Mack runs leadership institutes to help underrepresented groups navigate the tenure process[4]

Hugo Rossi lecture at the University of Utah[5] and gave a plenary lecture at the American Geophysical Union's 2021 meeting.[6]
