The Hostomel Hromada (Ukrainian: Гостомельська територіальна громада, [Hostomel's'ka terytorial'na hromada] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a unit of local self-government (a hromada—or community) in Kiev Oblast, located in northern Ukraine. Its administrative center is located in the settlement of Hostomel, for which the hromada is named for.[1] Its population was 24,450 as of 1 January 2015[update].[2]
The hromada's administrative boundaries comprise much of the boundaries of the former Irpin City Council, which was a local self-government unit that was dissolved following Ukrainian constitutional reform in 2016–2017 as part of the wider decentralization reforms.
Administrative divisions
[edit]In summer 2015, four populated settlements voluntarily united together to form the Hostomel Hromada, which was allowed under legislation passed by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament. These populated settlements are:[2][3]
- Horenka (pop. 7,800)
- Hostomel (administrative center) (pop. 14,467)
- Moshchun (pop. 1,350)
- Ozera (pop. 830)
