Biography

[edit]

Scrappy Ramirez Hernandez was brought into the Ramirez Hernandez family 3 weeks after he was born in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.  As a puppy he was always playful, energetic, and kind. At age 3, Scrappy moved with his family to a bigger house in Tegucigalpa, which had more space in the backyard for him to play. By age 4, he discovered that he had a tremendous phobia of pools, which helped further his hate of being bathed. At age 6, Scrappy started to experience a severe case of jealousy because a new dog, named Chloe Ramirez Hernandez, arrived in Scrappy's home. It took various months for both of the dogs to fall in love. It was not so long after that Chloe got pregnant and had 6 puppies. In the following years, Scrappy's wife, who was also a French Poodle, had multiple pregnancies, resulting in a total of 18 puppies. [3]One of Scrappy's daughters, Shakira Ramirez (whose name was inspired by the Colombian singer Shakira), currently lives in the Ramirez Hernandez residence.

Throughout his life, Scrappy Ramirez has experienced various cases of severe depression[4]The first case he went through happened at age 9, in November 2015, when his wife, Chloe, got stolen in the middle of the night. As a result, Scrappy stopped eating for weeks, lost weight, and helplessly barked at night. Chloe was never again seen, and Scrappy was never the same again. The second case of depression Scrappy was able to overcome arose in late 2016. He was diagnosed with the Ehrlichia Canis disease caused by ticks. One of her owners, Camila Ramirez (a current student in Rochester Institute of Technology) was playing with him and realized that his nose was bleeding. Scrappy was taken into the emergency room of the veterinarian and was given some treatment to cure the disease. [3] The treatment that Scrappy took was extremely invasive, which triggered a severe depression that lasted for months. Miraculously, Scrappy got cured. The last case of depression is currently taking place in Scrappy's life. From all his owners, his favorite is his friend Camila Ramirez, who during the Fall of 2017 left Tegucigalpa to study abroad in Rochester Institute of Technology. The departure of Camila is still considered to be one of the toughest experiences Scrappy has had to live through. Currently, Scrappy sees Camila through FaceTime at least once a week. [3]
