User:Criticality synonymous with art

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

'Criticality (in this case), simply means questioning.

Generally, art falls into two categories: art which celebrates the world we live in and art which questions it; art which addresses what we know and art which addresses what we don't know. The former addresses existing values and the latter asserting new values. This does not mean to say that work which is celebratory cannot also be critical, nor that uncritical work is entirely without value. It just means that in order for art to become synonymous with new values it must question existing values.
