Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Cretanforever! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 288 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Aziz Kocaoğlu - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Arthur Stratton
[edit]Hello again Moonraker. Just as a reminder and without wanting to sound as an obituary collector :), could you access any kind of obituary from Bowdoin, as you suspected there could be, in order to finally have a date of death for Arthur Stratton? Best regards. Cretanforever (talk) 13:49, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
- I couldn't find an obituary, but I did find the date he died. Please see my last edit to the page. Moonraker2 (talk) 09:10, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- Great job Moonraker! Thanks! Now that the English language article finally looks complete, I will start one in Turkish wikipedia. Cretanforever (talk) 10:47, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Curious discovery, he was a CIA man. See my last edits. Moonraker2 (talk) 05:14, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Help
[edit]Hi, can you help me with this article tr:Sarı Süleyman Paşa? I've created an article on Wikipedia in Croatian about him, using the informations from other articles, like de:Liste_der_Großwesire_des_Osmanischen_Reiches and en:Battle of Mohács (1687).
As I carefully browsed the Wikipedia in Turkish, I've discovered that there's an article about him. I don't understand Turkish, but as I can guess, there're some inconsistencies between those articles. Since Sari Suleyman-Pasa is a native of Turkey, I find that Turkish sources and information on Wikipedia in Turkish are more accurate than other sources and I'm willing to incorporate the information from tr:Sarı Süleyman Paşa into the article that I've created. Would you, please, translate that article in English?
Looking forward to our future cooperation, Kamarad Walter (talk) 18:41, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
History of rail transport in Turkey
[edit]Hi! Good work on the table - very neat looking. Before you get too involved I wanted to point out that some of the lines already have stub article eg "İzmir-Kasaba (Turgutlu) and branches" cf Smyrne Cassaba & Prolongements, also "Mersin - Adana" cf Adana–Mersin Main Line - so linked to those might be a good idea. (You might also consider adding parts of the table to those articles?
Also please list the source of the information if possible in the references section or sources section.
It's up to you how you do it though, and I look forward to more info. Keep up the good work.Shortfatlad (talk) 20:29, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
History of rail transport turkey
[edit]Hi. Thanks for responding. I'm actually not much of an expert on the railways of Turkey - my involvment with a couple of articles was basically just a clean up, and creating a stub article - I've got the article on my watch list, so I look forward to any additions you make - hopefully I'll learn more about the topic.Shortfatlad (talk) 19:53, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Migrant boat incidents
[edit]Hello Ser Amantino! I saw your edits on migrant boat-related incidents on some of which I tried to bring a contribution or two of my own. I would appreciate if you could take a look at the questions I raised here Category Talk: Migrant boat incidents and comment if you judge necessary. I asked a couple of other users whom I thought would show interest. I am not fully comfortable with the present terminology under which I categorized the incidents treated in relevant articles and a few recent examples such as the discussions which took place around Upper Big Branch disaster leads me into thinking that the best suitable wording is primordial even when the event's front page potential hopes are rather slight. Cretanforever (talk) 19:34, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
I think the terminology's fine, myself. I don't see anything wrong with the phrase "migrant boat" - it sounds perfectly proper to me. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 19:39, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Irrevelant links
[edit]Hi Cretanforever
You have contributed to the template Towns and villages of Aksaray (16 July 2007) by linking. However I observe that the targets of three links need to be repaired. (Maybe the targets were altered afterwards)
- Hamidiye is linked to a disambig page of a crusier and a cavalry
- Kutlu is linked to a photographer
- Yeşiltepe is linked to a town in Cyprus.
Cheers.Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 08:09, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Kingdom of Mira
[edit]A tag has been placed on Kingdom of Mira requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I42 (talk) 18:48, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit]In regards to your message to Bellhalla, you should be aware of the appropriate naming conventions for ship articles: WP:NC-SHIPS. What you are proposing is contrary to the naming conventions. -MBK004 02:59, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Onassis
[edit]Hello Cplakidas. Thank you for your Aydın edits, on which I added slighly. There is another question I want to ask you. Could you -or anybody you may think of- check the following assertion made in the article Aristotle Onassis. "During this period Aristotle lost three uncles and one aunt with her husband Chrysostomos Konialidis and their daughter, who were burned to death when the Turks set fire to a church in Thyatira where 500 Christians were seeking shelter from the Great Fire of Smyrna." To my knowledge if there was one center in western Anatolia where the Greco-Turkish War (1919-1922) caused minimal disruption, it was Akhisar (Thyatira). the phrase gives me the impression of being a little too far-fatched, unless a play of words on Thyatira-Theatre was intended. Regards. Cretanforever (talk) 13:00, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Re: Onassis
[edit]Hello too, and thanks for the appreciative comment. On your question, I don't really know, and this is not really my area of expertise. If there is a source that could validate this claim, then it is probably to be found in some biography of Onassis (a quick search on the web turned up nothing). Other than that, I'm afraid can't help. Best tag the phrase with {{cn}} for now... User:Cplakidas
- ) I shouldn't worry and immisce Cplakidas. It was added by http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Aristotle_Onassis&diff=prev&oldid=224258371 on the supposed basis of Peter Evans - The Life and Times of Aristotle Onassis. I love watching such stories returning to their authors. :) Cretanforever (talk) 11:03, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Sports clubs of Izmir
[edit]Merhaba Cretan,
Uzun zaman oldu.

In 2006 you have created the article Kuyucu Murad Pasha. Well the same topic also appears as a one sentence article written two days ago using slightly different alphabetic characters. see: Kuyucu Murat Paşa. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 14:58, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
