About Me
[edit]I have a background in history and archives. I am the prior Historian, Researcher, Collections Manager and Display Manager at Otautau Museum from 2016 to 2022, although I have lived in the town and local area since 2006. This is the blog site I set up while I was at the Museum: [1] I now undertake Family History for the local area. However I am new to wikipedia although know some other wonderful wikimedian's who inspired me to try this out. I am just learning how this process all works, so please be nice and help me out!
I have a love of all history, but especially that of our area. I have been doing in-depth research on our local town and district for some four years now (in 2020) and would like to be able to share what I have found with others. My great loves are History, The role of Women in Society through the ages, Art, Reading, Gardening, Herbalism, Motorbikes and Motor Racing. I have a husband, an adoptive daughter and two step-daughers, plus two moggies. We live in rural Western Southland, very near Fiordland, which I believe to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.
