User:Cpiral/namespace sandbox
Thank you for the answer. It's not complete for me, so please allow me to clarify my question, if I may do so here. Otherwise, it looks like a candidate for the village pump.
How do I experiment to learn namespaces? Do we need a namespace called Sandbox:?
The answer would seem to be either "Don't!" or "We need a namspaces called Sandbox:."
To understand this question, here is how I get to it:
- I'm trying to learn namespaces.
- I read Wikipedia:Ns#Namespace-dependent_functionality and decide to exercise one or more of these functional aspects.
- I create a subpage with an official namespace, say, Help:Cpiraling.
- I use the search box to search the Help: namespace for my page.
I use the search box because it will verify recognition of a namespace string, wherease the the URL will just go there, namespaces string or not.
So I have to use an official namespace designation. it will be an article under that official namespace, and not hidden from searches in that namespace, even though it is my personal subpage.
And as soon as I confirm a namespace function in action, I'm done. I can't delete the page and must mark it for speedy deletion.
There has got to be a better way.
Here is an attempt at a better way, an answer that is neither "Don't!" or "e need a namspaces called Sandbox:."
A. Create an explicitly namespaced subfile in your user space, using one of the official namespaces.
