Have you ever wondered how to correctly write a quote response? Have you ever wanted to make your paragraph flow better? If so, this is the article for you, because I will be walking through the most important parts of a quote response.
The first part of any quote response is the opening sentence. It should have no personal pronouns (I, Me, My, etc.), and should read like a statement. The sentence should also have no conjunctions. For example: "Never give up, no matter how dire the situation may seem". There are no personal pronouns, it reads like a claim statement, and it is a simple sentence.
The next part of the paragraph is the explanation of the first sentence. You need to make sense of what you said. For example, an explanation of the starting sentence above would be "Some people give up on their hopes and dreams the second the going gets tough. You need to fight through it to find true happiness". I explained what the sentence meant, and why it is important.
One of the most important parts of any given quote response is the personal evidence the writer draws from his or her own life. This is the only thing that will prove your claim to be true. For example: "I, personally know this to be true because of my experience in soccer. One game, we were down 0-1 going into the final minutes of the game. However, we pulled through and ended up winning the game 4-1". I pulled in evidence and proved my point to be true.
The final sentence is the easiest, as it is just restating your claim."As you can see, you should never give up". This wraps up the paragraph, and ends your awesome quote response effectively!
