Early Life and Education

Gon was born into a family of architects in Ra’anana, where his early exposure to the arts sparked his passion for music. At the age of six, he began studying piano, inspired by his older brother. He attended the prestigious Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, where he majored in theater. During his time at Thelma Yellin, he played a leading role in the musical The Sound of Music, alongside actress Ania Bukstein, marking the beginning of his journey into performance arts.

Following his studies in Israel, Gon relocated to New York, where he pursued operatic training at the Mannes School of Music. His time in New York deeply influenced his artistic approach, blending classical technique with contemporary musical exploration. Gon's operatic training helped hone his vocal abilities, which later became a hallmark of his distinctive style .

Micha’el, A Temporary Name is a musical-theatrical work by Gon Halevi that delves into themes of identity, loss, and unresolved emotional trauma.[1] The production blends operatic elements with intimate storytelling, creating a haunting and evocative atmosphere. Through a minimalist set design and a powerful ensemble of singers and actors, the piece explores the complexities of personal and collective memory, as well as the deep emotional scars that can result from hidden truths and unspoken histories. Another major highlight of Halevi’s career is the concert Soundtrack of Childhood (Paskol Yaldut), in which he presents reimagined arrangements of iconic Israeli songs and composers, including The Prettiest Girl in Kindergarten by Yoni Rechter, Yonatan Go Home by Yehonatan Geffen, Mr. Shoko. and many more. Therapeutic Music Work

In addition to his artistic endeavors, Halevi is involved in music therapy. He serves as a vocal coach in the Soul Key rehabilitation program for combat trauma survivors, hosted by the Israeli Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv. In this role, Halevi leads singing and music sessions with participants who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These sessions, held in near-total darkness, aim to create a meditative musical experience, allowing participants to release emotions and process their trauma.
