Citogenesis

[edit]

Wikipedia has a huge responsibility! Wikipedia and its users control knowledge!

In academia Wikipedia isn't considered a reliable source. But if Wikipedia only allows reliable sources to begin with then what is a reliable source in the first place?

Is citing a "reliable source" on Wikipedia reasonable if the referenced part in the citation is just an opinion piece or by itself an unsourced claim although published by an entity usually referred to as a reliable source?
