My Overall
[edit]My name is Christopher Barrow and i am 17 years old. I used to be into reading, but now I never have time to. My girlfriend wants me to read Twilight, but I won't. My favorite subjects are math and science. I am in the band and play the Tenor sax. I plan to be an Aerospace Engineer when I grow up. My favorite colors are red and blue.
History
[edit]My history is a very exciting one. I was Born on June 14, 1994. I was born as the first one in my family, but I was not the only one to come. Six years later, on June 28, 2000, my brother Carson was born. Then came along my little sister Caroline. She was born on March 19, 2003. Only twice have we gone to disney world. One when I was four and another this year 2006. And on January 26, 2010 I started going out with the love of my life! I love her!
Favorite things to do!
[edit]' SPEND TIME WITH MY GIRLFRIEND! Yeah, yeah! EVERYWHERE!
My Opinion
[edit]I have a opinion on a lot of things: The Harry Potter series, I recomend it to all active readers. It will keep you busy for a while and take you longer to read than your average 200 page book.
And my opinion is that my girlfriend is the second best thing ever!
School Essays
[edit]This year in school, we do portfolio pieces and one of them is a how-to essay. I chose the topic of "How To Handle School":
How to Handle School
Is school hard to handle? Are you not doing well in test or just doing homework? This guide will help you improve your grades & make school less of a drag.
Getting Ready
The first thing you want to do to get ready to go to school is:
• Get a good night sleep. The recommended amount of time is approximately nine hours of rest.
• Have a good, well balanced breakfast.
• Make sure all homework & assignments are done.
What to do When You’re at School
• Pay attention to the teacher.
• Participate in any classroom activities.
• Take any notes if needed
• Copy down assignments.
How to do Assignments & Study for Test
• When home or where ever you may be, take a five to ten minute break before starting on homework or studying for a test.
• Do assignments that are due the next day first, or in the order that you have the classes, then do the long term assignments.
• When studying for test, study for fifteen minutes, then do something else for five minutes, then go back for studying for fifteen minutes, and do the cycle over and over again.
If you want to do well in school, just follow this guide, and you will excel in your homework, test, and have better grades in school.
Another Essay that I did was a Martin Luther King essay:
“I look to a day when people are not judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” These were one of the quotes given on the day that Martin Luther King Jr. made his famous speech, “I Have a Dream.” He may have won the battle, but we need to win the war of judging. Not just by color, but by whether they are rich, poor, how their clothed, or just don’t like them from the start. We need to try our best to get along in this country, by starting in our community. All people are to be treated equally regardless of how they are. “We must learn to live together, or die to fools” also quoted by Martin Luther King Jr. We need to live together or perish. At another point in history, we were not giving women their rights. We were treating them like we treated blacks.
One way we can start to improve our community for all people is to us the golden rule, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” We need to give respect to other people. If we apply this to our daily lives, we will get one step closer to a better community.
Another way is to be open to other people. Clubs is an example. A club may regret not accepting a person when they could have done well.
My conclusion is that if we want to have a better community, we need to treat others with respect. We need to judge people by their character, not by their skin color. There are many ways that we can improve the community. We together, can win the war of dishonest judgment.
