During my article evaluation I learned how Wikipedia is very much like a community learning space. People contribute information they know or read elsewhere, and put it all in one central location. We chose to improve the page on Compression garments, and I added to two of the sections, maternal belly wraps and stockings. I also added a picture of two wrestlers, showing another example of athletes wearing compressing garments. The reason I chose the sections that I did is because they were the most bare sections. With the first section, I mainly focused on postpartum wraps, why they are used and what is important when looking to get one for yourself. For the second section, I put a heavier emphases on the history of stockings, as well as the invention of Nylon. The article is now much more comprehensive. I have not yet received any feedback from other editors. This assignment is much different than the usual assignments given in school. This assignment felt particularly important to me because I felt like I was bettering more than just myself. I helped improve a page that anyone with internet access can learn from. Wikipedia is a great resource because it pools information from all over the internet to one central location, but has citations that show you where everything was retrieved from.
