Francis-Adrien Morneault (1985 - present) is an educator, writer, and veteran living in Saint John, New Brunswick. He experienced adoption and was born an anglophone but raised a francophone in the Edmundston region. He holds a master’s degree in French literature from Quebec and is an avid reader of all works of literature. He adores road trips in Canada and travels abroad. He is married and has a daughter.

His first novel is set to be launched in 2024. The story is told from the deathbed of an old detective and veteran in the city of Saint John. Jack Willington is reflecting on his life and telling the tale of a curious case that fell on his and his mentor partner’s lap years ago. Many of those people and places are long gone and have vanished almost like they never existed, but the lessons they left behind are still very much alive. Through the detective’s investigation, the universal themes of loss, love, aging, war, and detective work are explored in a philosophical, poetic, and introspective writing style in this original noirish novel set on the East Coast of Canada, with its mesmerizing landscapes. The character-driven narrative encapsulates a time and a place and offers a different take on the murder story.
