I know that the article about Epidemic Sound does not exist yet, but I brought this up for the case that an article will be created anytime in the future. ––Chanc20190325 (talk) 15:04, 21 June 2019 (UTC) |
Renamed soundtrack names?
[edit]Apparently, many soundtracks from “soundtrack series” have recently been renamed from a numbered naming system (e.g. SoundtrackName 01
, SoundtrackName 02
, SoundtrackName 03
, etc.) to a completely new name, replacing the previous name without a trace.
Example: This is a series of soundtracks, called “Epic Trailer”: https://www.epidemicsound.com/series/4108/
- This soundtrack “Narrow Escape” was once called “Epic Trailer 04”. It existed since 2013, but has been renamed less than a month ago. I don't know whether all numbered tracks were renamed, but every one I have seen has certainly been renamed, not just the soundtracks from one artist.
Because the previous name is no longer available, the soundtracks are hard to find under their known, existing name. And the Wayback Machine is not compatible with EpidemicSound.com's JavaScript/XHR-heavy design.
Whether EpidemicSound recently requested their artists to rename their music to match the new naming system, or their employees did so, is unknown.
Notce repeated because some ignorant fellow Wikipedia editor will likely nominate this for deletion without actually checking it's contents: I know that the article about Epidemic Sound does not exist yet, but I brought this up for the case that an article will be created anytime in the future. ––Chanc20190325 (talk) 15:04, 21 June 2019 (UTC) |

Video descriptions
[edit]I have noticed that video descriptions of YouTube videos that use music from EpidemicSound.com often mention “Courtesy of Epidemic Sound” without referencing the actual name of the musical piece.
Is that deliberate? ––Chanc20190325 (talk) 15:04, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
