Founder of The Hummingbird ( https://thehummingbird.org.in/) Priyanka Chakrabarty, a business journalist from Guwahati, Assam. Born on June 5, 1981, she was raised in a loving and intellectually stimulating environment, with a deep sense of social justice and curiosity about the world. Priyanka has multiple master's degrees, including an MA in Women's Studies, Sociology, and Political Science, as well as a PG Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism. Currently she is pursuing Executive MBA in Finance from IIT Patna.

She has authored the book " Menstrual Rituals in Assam- A Cross-Cultural Study".

Priyanka's professional journey started as a Media Officer at IFEN. She has held various roles, including Associate Director at the Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change and Development, Consultant for UNICEF, and Research Associate for the Institute of Rural Management Anand in collaboration with NHPC. Her work spanned critical research on women's socio-political and economic status and sustainable livelihood interventions.

Priyanka's true calling was journalism, and she has been a Senior Journalist at Business Northeast since August 2022, reporting on business news from the region, bringing critical issues to the forefront. Her dedication earned her the Women Icon Award in 2021.

Priyanka remains rooted in her community, contributing articles, short stories, and poetry to local newspapers and magazines. She has been recognized for her impeccable attendance and as a Wellness Champion at Business Northeast.
