Changes

[edit]

Alpine continue with Victor Martins for the 5th year running, as Kean Nakamura-Berta is confirmed for his second year in F1.

Andretti will field IndyCar runner up Nikita Johnson for a rookie year. He will be joined by Gabriele Mini, who joins for his third year at Andretti.

Since Aramco bought Aston Martin F1 two years ago, they have come fourth the last two seasons. Charles Leclerc returns for his third year at the team, and Gabriel Bortoleto joins the team from McLaren.

Audi enter their 5th year in Formula One, and Zak O'Sullivan makes the move to the team from Williams. Theo Pourchaire continues with the team for as long as they have been in F1.

Ferrari have not been up to scratch, after P5 in 2029. However, their reliable partnership of Ollie Bearman and Tuukka Taponen continues for a third season running.

Haas have had a mixed last few years, and they field former Racing Bulls drivers Kacper Sztuka and Liam Lawson for their second years with the team.

A new addition to the grid has been made, through Hyundai. Doriane Pin won FIA WEC three times with Ferrari, and therefore makes the move to F1. Jack Doohan also joins the team from WEC, where he finished 3rd with Peugeot in 2029. Both drivers are F1 rookies.

McLaren field Ugo Ugochukwu for his 2nd year in F1, and he'll be looking for a top 5 finish. In addition, the team has signed Freddie Slater, fresh from a season as reserve driver and Formula E champion.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli looks to retain his title with Mercedes, whilst Lando Norris continues with Mercedes for a second season after jumping ships from McLaren.

Red Bull will want to get back at Mercedes after they halted Red Bull's winning streak, and the lineup of third year driver Arvid Lindblad and the man who joined the team in 2026, Oscar Piastri has got youth and experience, and capability of fighting for the title.

René Lammers and Enzo Tarnvanichkul will fight for a place at Red Bull for next year, as they fill up the Toro Rosso seats. Tarnvanichkul is a rookie, and Lammers is in his second year of the competition.

Williams have been fighting for a place at the front of the grid, and they might finally do it with the combination of experienced George Russell, who returned for the 2029 season, and rookie Sasha Bondarev.

Championship Standings

[edit]

Sprint races were scrapped at the end of the 2029 season, instead extending a 23-race calendar to 24, with Hyderabad added to the calendar. The calendar was also adjusted to reduce air miles.
