Music of the Free [MOFT1993] is a Brooklyn based singer-songwriter, who has recently returned to music after a 15 years hiatus. He earned his p[lace in the rich history of Jamaican music by penning the song, "Baby I've Got New for You" song by artist Shalom and released by Zonic Music. MOTF has taken a profilic and experimental approach to music creation releasing four studio albums in two years. The artist explores themes love, justice and freedom in his songs. He makes the connection between the importance of being an independent artist and the automy and freedom it brings.

His earliest recollection of music was learning songs in elementary school. Whole-school gatherings in the mornings and evenings that would involve sing. MOTF1993 still recalls some of those songs along with his emotional reactions to them. When asked about musical influences the MOTF!993 identified three albums as his all time favorites Bob Marley & The Wailers, Legend – The Best of Bob Marley & The Wailers (2002 Edition) The Underground, Traqstarr, Tracy Chapman's Fast Car - EP Tracy Chapman, Tracy Chapman I somewhere and how between growing up listening to Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Beres Hommond and other reggae artists then hearing Tracy Chapman it changed me. The power of using music to share, feelings, emotions and meanings shifted my life's focus.

When asked about his most significant work so far he mentions the song, “Love is a Revolution” and shared that, "I do believe that love is a revolution, both political and romantic. For groups that have been historical oppressed this is more pronounced when the messages and dominant narrative they receive makes the act of loving themselves revolutionary."

When asked to share a memorable moments in his career MOTF1993 shared that, " At age 21 hearing my song on the radio for the first. It was surreal as if I had somehow transcended beyond the physical. The thoughts, ideas and feelings that were deep inside of had found their existence outside of me, being shared with the world." MOTF1993 shared that he wants to be known for my writing of songs and for the attention placed on communicating human emotions. I want to reach millions of people; to share the blessings I have received from music.
