[edit]Mark Hudson, an academic in sustainability, praised the book for its in depth history of the Green parties in Australia from the 1970s to 2019. Hudson also praised Manning for diagnosing contemporary problems for green politics, but critiqued that he does not put forward any potential solutions to these problems.[1]
Hall Greenland criticised the book for primarily taking the view of ex-leaders Bob Brown and Christine Milne.[2] Greenland states that "The Greens in NSW were a key partner in the formation of the Australian Greens, not a recalcitrant foreign body, as presented".[2] Following the release of the book, Greenland, Geoff Ash, and Lee Rhiannon published Inside Inside the Greens to fact-check claims made within the book.[3]
