AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is a non-profit hospital in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, United States owned by AdventHealth.
History
[edit]Hurricane evacuations
[edit]On October 5, 2016, the hospital was evacuated due to Hurricane Matthew. It moved 30 patients by ambulance to Florida Hospital DeLand and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial.[1][2] Many of its rooms received water damage, the majority its canopies outside were lost and it had a power outage after one of its generators blew a circuit.[2] Florida Hospital New Smyrna reopened two days later.[2] In early September 1, 2019, the hospital evacuated for a second time due to Hurricane Dorian. The hospital moved its patients by ambulance to other AdventHealth hospitals.[3][4][5]
