About Me

[edit]

Hi! I'm Caseorganic! I live in Portland, Oregon, like open source, and enjoy going to meetups and unconferences. In the past, you might have met me at Portland's RecentChangesCamp 2009 or WikiWednesday at AboutUs.org.

Summary

[edit]

Right now I'm the Director of Esri's R&D Center, Portland, where I've been working on next gen location-based technology and some R&D projects. Previously, I co-founded Geoloqi, a location-based software company acquired by Esri in 2012. In 2012 I was named one of National Geographic's Emerging Explorers and made Inc Magazine's 30 under 30 with Geoloqi co-founder Aaron Parecki. I've spoken at TED on technology and humans and regularly speaks around the world.

Interests

[edit]

I'm a big proponent of data ownership, and I use my own domain as both data store and identity provider. I founded IndieWebCamp with Tantek Çelik and Aaron Parecki in 2010 to provide a community gathering point for ideas around privacy, security and data ownership. I'm very interested in furthering the ideas of Calm Technology, wearable computing, and the future of the interface. You can follow me on Twitter @caseorganic or visit my site at caseorganic.com.

Wikis

[edit]

I run a number of Wikis on my own servers, the most notable one being Cyborg Anthropology.
