User:Carcharoth/Arbitration philosophy and pledges

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is both a collection of links to relevant pages from the Arbitration Committee elections of December 2008, and a place to summarise the pledges I made in that election and to lay out my approach to arbitration, and any associated issues. It is intended as a guide for myself to refer to during my 2-year term, and for others to comment on if they wish to do so. Please leave comments on the talk page, and also leave a note on my user talk page.

Election pledges

[edit]

A list of election pledges and stances taken on various issues.

  • Will request Checkuser and Oversight tools, but only for review and case evidence purposes
  • Will keep a record in my userspace on Wikipedia of Arbitration-related activity during the year
  • Will attempt to split arbitration-other activities approximately 70/30
  • Will focus non-arbitration activity on articles and FAC and FAR reviews
  • Pledged to give up all arbitration tools and access after my term is finished (unless I stand for re-election)
  • Pledged to not accept a term extension, but to either stand down at end of term, or stand for re-election
    • More to come (need to finish reviewing election pages)
