Giving Back

[edit]Teavana partnered with a few charities and organizations to help give back. Starbucks and Teavana are known for providing jobs to veterans and military spouses, and have hired over 4,000 total. They also helps their partners enroll into Arizona State online classes through their College Achievement Plan.[1]
Supporting Youth Education
[edit]Oprah Winfrey is partnered with Teavana to create the Oprah Chai and the Oprah Herbal Chai. A percentage of the profits are donated to the Oprah Winfrey Leardership Foundation, which funds the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa. Teavana and Starbucks have raised $5M in support of education for young people with the chai teas. Another organization Teavana is partnered with is Girls, Inc. in support of youth education and mentorship. Teavana has donated $100,000 to benefit young women across the U.S. and Canada, helping them transition between high school and college.[1]
Ethical Tea Project
[edit]On April 1st, 2015 Teavana joined the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP). The partnership is a non-profit that ensures ethical production and distribution of tea products, by "factory health and safety, safe use of agrochemicals, human resource management, and environmental management." Also, ETP monitors for issues that cannot be tracked with audits and certification, such as discrimination and living conditions of the workers. [2]
