I've used Wikipedia for a long time as a launching point for further investigations into whatever I am interested in at the moment. I went ahead and created an account, primarily so I can interact with the Wiki community on a first-name basis, but also on the off chance that I might be able to bring some of my expertise to bear on an article.

That, and I'm very dilligent with scouring for vandalism and spam, since everyone should be able to reap the benefits of this collaboration without having to deal with maligned users with nothing better to do. :)
