Mpumelelo Dlomo, the founder of the Tech Start-up and Incubation Hub, Caezario[1].

He was one of the founders of The Collective Group along with the Late Wenzi Mgeyane, Awalandwe Magagula, Chaz Dunn, Reeza Thomas and Karabo Moretlo in 2015/2016 which was part film studio, part business incubator and part tech start up think tank.

Mpumelelo was born in 1993. The Son of Dennis Thokozani Dlomo, the former ambassador to Algieria and Mexico[2] [3], former Deputy Director General of Intelligence[4], and Reshoketswe Desire Bopape, Company Secretary of Transnet, former Company Secretary of Alexkor[5][6]. Born in Durban at the near end of the troubled Apartheid era, Mpumelelo is one of 9 siblings, in birth order: Skhumbuzo Dlomo[7][8][9][10], Makgobe Phillip Bopape (Deceased), Mpumelelo Dlomo[11], Ayanda "Wonda Yanda" Dlomo[12][13][14][15], Zanoxolo Dlomo, Siphesihle Dlomo, Shema Rogers, Josephine Dlomo, Jean-Paul Dlomo, Lwandle Dlomo.

Of these siblings only two have children. Skhumbuzo, affectionately known as Sk, is the Father of Nandi and Lethu Dlomo, and Makgobe Phillip Bopape, know as "Mk" or by his middle name, Phillip, who is survived by a daughter, Lebone Sizakele Bopape. The family has a variety of adoptive siblings or close relations such as Sandile Clement Masuku[16][17][18][19], Thabiso Chauke[20] and Obakeng Sathekge. As an aspiring writer and with his brother working as a Designer and entrepreneur[9] who was transitioning into motion graphics, Visual Effects[10] and attending AFDA's film school[21], Mpumelelo decided to try his hand as both a designer and then as a film maker[1][22][23].

Mpumelelo developed a growing obsession with business[1], which is still growing as he is currently studying his Postgraduate Qualification in Business Management[1]. After researching and trying to venture into Information Technology with Abubakr Bagrsh in Addis Abeba[24], Ethopia in 2009-2010, a failed venture that taught him all about code but left him unable to.

Once back in South Africa[25] and bitten by the learning bug once again, he began working with his brother in the capacity of an intern. Mpumelelo began writing scripts from cobbled together bits of advice and mostly the guidance of his pressured brother. With his brother as a role model[7] and entrepreneurship[9] in easy range, Mpumelelo decided to enlist the help of his brother to finally choose a university. Unable to find a program to commit to long term and under time pressure due to the application being last minute, he decided to follow his brother, a clear trend at this point. Luckily enough for Mpumelelo, he was later vindicated, in that his brother turned into a full time lecturer[7] so he was not the only one who was seeing sense.

Finally getting into AFDA himself, second child in the house to graduate from the Film school, with Wonda Yanda, graduating from the BCom degree, surprisingly considering that they have a degree in music[26], as the third child to do so - Ayanda had already completed a qualification through Academy of Sound Engineering - and lectured by the first to do so, in a completely different school than the one that he studied in himself, as he was now the D-tech lecturer. Graduating from The School of The Creative Economy[26] in South Africa[25]in March 2018. At this point Awalandwe Mpumelelo and Thando Makhaye had been working on The Collective Group full time and had been incubating their various start up ideas such as "Pepper Cafe" https://www.facebook.com/peppercafetcg/ a catering company, Nova a digital services and marketing company, A Film Company, Awa's imprint and the equivalent to The Entitled Lot[21] as Mpumelelo's. Through the ups and downs life happened, just as a deal with the Museum Africa and Pholoso More[27] was struck and Mpumelelo's parents advised that he go into a different field. Mpumelelo begrudgingly agreed and went to start working under Jan Thema and Peter Khan as a Discovery Short-term Insurance Advisor. In this capacity he learned a lot from individuals like Mary-Anne Nottling, Jan Thema, while managed and mentored by Grace Mphela and went on to meet Bonginkosi Radebe[1].

Through his time at Multicover Mpumelelo came to better grasp the business environment and one of those lessons that were difficult to learn were the reality of illiquidity. Jan Thema had to let go of some of the staff and so he chose a First In Last Out (FILO) approach and unfortunately Mpumelelo was among those who would have to fight for a place.

Peter Khan was a saving grace as he was able to absorb Mpumelelo into his portion of the shop however the fit did not work and Mpumelelo left[1].

At this stage he was lucky to have met Bonginkosi as Bongi had intentions of starting his own shop and Mpumelelo got work in that new brokerage and was promoted from selling just short-term insurance into a full broker of Short-Term, Life Assurance and Investments, all the while Mpumelelo was still running The Collective Group in 2020/1. As time went by Mpumelelo found that The Collective Group were feeling as if they had been placed on the back burner and he was stretched too thin, much like the patience of those around him. This time was a time of endings and new beginning as The Collective Group and the Collective Good were phased out and Caezario Pty Ltd was born in February of 2021. The formal end of the relationship though only took place in 2022. Talk insure also was not far behind as Mpumelelo enrolled in his Post-graduate Diploma in Business Management through Regenesys Business School.

During that Time Bongiknosi arranged for Mpumelelo to step into the next stage of his journey and begin to deal in private equity through Aluma, which was a combination Brokerage, and part of a larger Group, The Numeral Group, which dealt in Credit, Private Equity, Blockchain Technology, Business Development, Bilogical research and stem cell storage. Mpumelelo worked as a Discovery GC, was transitioned to Aluma as part of their representatives register and then was hired as a FAC, or a Financial Advisor Consultant. This became a new place for Mpumelelo to explore the world from and just recently Mpumelelo transitioned from consulting on Numeral/Aluma issues to going full time into Caezario, though he was wearing both hats simultaneously for the past two years.
