User:C.Fred/Articles to revisit

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Introduction

[edit]

The purpose of this list is to catalog those articles I've tagged, or come across tagged, for improvement where I think that some incubation time is warranted, rather than deleting the article outright. The tags in question include, but are not limited to, those for {{Notability}}, {{Unreferenced}}, and {{Primarysources}}. Basically, they are articles that I want to incubate. These articles are on my watchlist, more likely than not; however, this catalog allows me to revisit the article weeks or months down the road.

Articles that are nominated for AfD discussion are not on the list, because the discussion will lead to a more final result and because I usually watch the discussion itself. Articles that are proposed for deletion do remain on the list, pushed back to the end of the prod period, because of the ease of contesting.

Help! My article is on the list!

[edit]
  1. Don't remove it from the list. I watch this page and will see the change. Likewise, don't just remove the tag without improving the article.
  2. Do add secondary sources to the article. Please make sure they're reliable sources. If the article is tagged for some other reason, such as needing a cleanup, make the necessary changes.
  3. If you know something about the article but don't have a source, mention it on the talk page. "Hey, I heard that band XYZ is going to play a national tour. Has anybody seen a newspaper story about it?" Or, if you don't understand why the article is tagged as unreferenced/not notable/written like an advertisement, ask on the talk page.
  4. Optionally, leave a message on my talk page to let me know you've made changes to the article. If you've improved the article enough, I'll be glad to untag the article and remove it from the list, or let you know what the next step is.

Remember, the articles aren't on this list because I want to delete them—or I'd have already done that. They're on the list because I think they should be improved, but I don't have the resources (whether it be time, research materials, or lucky Google hits) to improve them myself.
