Solidarity Against Disability Discrimination (SADD, Korean: 전국장애인차별철폐연대; Jeongukjangaeinchabyeolcheolpyeyeondae) is a South Korean organization established in 2007.

Activities

[edit]
  • Movement rights for Disabled
  • Abolition of the Disability rating system
  • Abolition of the Obligatory support system

Public transport protests

[edit]

Since 2021, SADD has hosted public transportation protests.[1] SADD insisted on securing a budget to guarantee the mobility rights of the disabled, installing elevators in stations without elevators, and requiring the introduction of low-floor buses.

Criticism

[edit]

Due to SADD's subway riding protest, the operation of the subway was delayed, causing inconvenience to passengers.[2] SADD made an appeal to urge legislation for full mobility rights of the disabled, the elderly, and others. However, it has been criticized that such an appeal is not correct because it is speaking out at the expense of others.
