Bahar Organization

A humanitarian NGO was founded in 2011 in Afrin - Aleppo, Syria. It was officially registered as a Syrian NGO in Türkiye in 2014, and It was registered in Erbil, Iraq in 2017. Bahar provides aid across multiple sectors including health, nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, shelter, protection, and early recovery. Bahar main interventions is to support those affected by conflicts and displacements, particularly in Syria and the surrounding regions (like Erbil and Jordan) [1].

Bahar responded to the humanitarian crises for more than ten year in north-west and north-east of Syria. Following the devastating earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye in 2022, the organization scaled up its work to address life-saving needs. Throughout the 12 years of the Syrian conflict, Bahar continuously expanded its operations to provide assistance to those affected by conflicts and natural disasters.[2]

What makes Bahar Organization stand out is that its founders speak Kurdish- a language spoken by minorities in northwest Syria. The Kurdish spoken in this region differs from the Kurdish language in Kurdistan. Bahar has actively supported Kurdish and Yazidi minorities, as well as Arab communities in the area, fostering inclusivity and assistance across diverse groups.
