Bright Msaka SC (born on 4 October 1959) is a Malawian politician serving as Member of Parliament(MP) for Machinga Likwenu since May, 2019. He previously served in several Diplomatic Missions as an Ambassador during the reign of Former State President , His Excellency |Dr. Bakili Muluzi in that capacity from 1995 to 2003. He was later appointed Deputy Chief secretary to the President and cabinet in January 2004.
Early Life Of Bright Msaka SC and Academic Background Bright Msaka SC was born in Zomba, a district in the Southern Region of Malawi, in the Area of Traditional Authority (T.A) Kuntumanje. Like any other child, Bright did his Primary education at Nkasaulo F. P school in Machinga District where he was selected to to Zomba Catholic secondary school (also known as Box 2) to pursue his secondary school education.
During the Malawi School Certificate of education (MSCE) examinations, Bright Msaka SC passed well and he earned himself a place at the to University of Malawi-Chancellor College in the year of 1978 where he did his first Degree, LLB (Hons) (CHANCO, UNIMA) and later he went further with his studies to obtained a Masters of Science (MSc) in Global Management (GM) from the University of Salford-UK, a PPP Dip (IP3 Washington DC). EARLY CAREER: Bright Msaka SC was admitted to practice as a lawyer in Malawi from 1983, He got Conferred the Status of Senior Counsel in 2009 owing to his splendid performance as a practicing lawyer. During his time as a practicing lawyer, Bright Msaka SC main focus were on Commercial litigation, Personal Injury liability claims, Restructuring, Insurance Claims, Libel, Civil and Criminal Litigation. His major clients were Banks, Road Construction companies, Tobacco Companies, International Shipping companies, Insurance Companies, Trading Corporations, and Motor Vehicle Franchise Holders. He also served as an academician as follows; 1. 1987-1992: Examiner, English Company Law for ACCA Accountants board. 2. 1992-1993: Examiner, Malawi Company Law for ACCA Accountants board. 3. 1993-1994: Lecturer in Law (Civil Procedure), University of Malawi, Chancellor College, Zomba.
